Eveline Wouters is lecturer and researcher at Fontys University of Applied Sciences, department of allied health professions. She studied medicine at Utrecht University and epidemiology at Maastricht University. She obtained her doctorate with a dissertation on psychosocial factors of aetiology, assessment, and treatment of obesity, at Tilburg University.


From 1982 to 1989 Eveline combined clinical work and research at the department of obstetrics and gynaecology, Catharina hospital Eindhoven. Research included influence of smoking on pregnancy, predictors of pregnancy induced hypertension and research on medical grounds for clinical antenatal care. Currently Eveline is part-time lecturer at the master physician-assistant clinical midwifery at Rotterdam University of applied sciences.


From 1989 onward Eveline has worked as lecturer at Fontys University. She is research coordinator of the research center ‘Bridging Innovations to Sustainable Care’. This expert centre participates in projects researching sustainable (e.g., technical) solutions for chronic health problems, aiming at home care. In all research projects the departure is the user perspective. Collaboration with technical institutes characterizes the research projects and in most projects several educational institutes, health care workers and bussiness companies cooperate.
